As a young woman under 30 years old, I have been in two serious relationships. Each relationship was serious to the point, that I thought I would marry these young men.  My first relationship was with a guy that for some reason couldn't keep a job. I was completely fed up with feeling like I was his mother than his girlfriend. He was a romantic, but wasn't mature. When I left this relationship, I knew I would miss the romantic and sweet things he did, but I had life goals, that I couldn't see him being a part of it. We left on good terms, and are still friends.

When I started my last relationship, I made sure he had a job, and that he had life goals. He was very intelligent, and a hard worker, but he wasn't a romantic and was a very jealous man. He was very insecure, and would go to the extreme of monitoring my phone calls.  He would never hit me, but he would throw dishes and knock the windows out my car. He even went as far as to one day slashing my tires to keep me from going to my sister's bachelorette party.  He would apologize, and buy me
 fancy gifts.

I left this poisonous relationship, when I was aware of how much he had changed. Yes, he had the job and he was handsome, but he was showing me signs of what would soon turn into something horrible.

I have been asked on many dates, but I have decided to step back and evaluate who I am.
