Pregnancy is supposed to be a happy time for a woman. She is excited to share the amazing news with the special people in her life, and expects everyone to be just as happy as her.  Unfortunately sometimes people do not react the way we expect or want them to. It’s really sad and heartbreaking that the people that you thought would share this joyous moment have sucked out the happiness.  Sometimes pregnancy comes unexpectedly and the mom may become embarrassed.   She’s afraid to celebrate and embrace becoming a new mom after receiving several negative responses from close family members. Expecting a baby is one of those life events that shows the ugly side of people.   Who doesn’t love babies?

Support from loved ones has a big impact during these special moments. The constant stares and judgement from strangers can be rough, but the rude comments and negative influences from family members are something a mom-to-be doesn’t need or want.

With the many things that go on or could go on during a pregnancy, the last thing she needs is unsupportive family members or friends. There are so many women that deal with the people she loved and she thought would be there for, that refuses involvement in her special occasion.

Regardless of the selfish reason of the people not supporting her, this should be a learning opportunity of who the people she thought she knew and who she loved really are. If they decide to  become a ghost, don’t allow who they showed you to not go unnoticed. Even if your parents don't like the child’s father, your sibling or friend is jealous because they wanted a child, or her grandparent is so judgmental because the child is born out of wedlock, she should love herself and embrace the beauty of being the best mother she can be. It’s just like in some things in life everyone that was once in your circle will not always be there. It will sometimes be family and even the ones that are really close to you will not always be with you when you have big life changes.

As an expecting mother, even if this is her first baby or her ninth, there shouldn’t be any pressure or any shame in bringing in a new life into the world. Most people that have an ill will towards a woman that decides to have a baby, even if it’s by accident or planned, NO ONE should make her regret her choice  to have a baby.
