Eric. what inspired your journey from Long Grove, Illinois to becoming a family‑run popcorn business in Oldsmar, Florida?
Signature Popcorn began in 2013 after the family discovered the popcorn business at a networking event. We felt led, spiritually and personally, to pursue it and eventually purchased the business from its previous owner. Amber and Edgar moved to Florida first, and a few years later I joined them. What started as a business opportunity quickly became something deeper: a way to bring the family back together.
How do Eric, Roxanne, Amber, and Edgar contribute to the creativity, operations, and heart of Signature Popcorn?
Each family member plays a distinct and essential role:
Eric, I, serves as President and overseer sales.
Amber leads all marketing efforts.
Edgar manages the financial side of the business.
Roxanne brings the brand to life as the graphic designer.
Together, we formed a team rooted in trust, creativity, and shared values.
What makes small‑batch, non‑GMO production essential to your brand?
While machines pop the corn, everything else is done by hand. The team personally checks quality, ensures each batch is evenly coated, removes unwanted hard pieces, and experiments with new ideas. Small‑batch production allows them to maintain high standards and deliver popcorn made with care, not mass‑produced shortcuts.
How do you create your fun custom flavors and what does your flavor‑development process look like?
We listen closely to trends, customer feedback, staff suggestions, and team creativity. It’s a collaborative, community‑driven process that keeps our menu fresh and exciting.
How did Siggy come to life, and what does he represent for your company?
Siggy was inspired by iconic characters like Disney’s Mickey Mouse. He represents fun, inclusivity, and the belief that everyone can find a flavor they love. Siggy helped out brand expand its identity and connect with customers in a playful, memorable way.
What keeps customers returning, and how do you maintain that sense of joy and connection?
We don’t make popcorn “just because.” We listen to our customers, care deeply about the product, and infuse love into every batch. Our mission is to bring joy, one kernel at a time, and that sincerity keeps customers coming back.
How does being a family‑run business influence your values, creativity, and the way you show up for customers?
Being family‑run means being rock‑solid in values, love, and commitment. We believe in finding team members who share those same principles. When people are invested, the business runs smoother, customers feel the difference, and the brand grows with integrity. As we put it, “We see it as a family business inside a business.”
What upcoming flavors or projects excite you as you continue to grow?
We are currently working on a dill pickle flavor and preparing seasonal favorites like peppermint bark for the holidays. We are also expanding our fundraising and corporate gifting programs, offering resealable bags, festive tins, and gift buckets filled with handcrafted popcorn in bold, crowd‑pleasing flavors. From school bands to nonprofits, we make fundraising deliciously simple. We also offer e-gift cards available.
My review: I recently had the chance to sit down with Eric, one of the owners of Signature Popcorn, and within minutes you could hear the passion in his voice. This family‑run team truly loves what they do, and that energy shows in every batch they make. The whole family concept is something I adore, it adds a warmth and authenticity you can taste.
Popcorn is one of my favorite snacks, especially during my nightly TV time, and Signature Popcorn made that moment even better. Most of my readers know cookies and cream is one of my all‑time favorite desserts, so when I saw their Cookies & Cream popcorn, I was instantly a happy camper. I’ll admit… I didn’t share that bag. It became my reality‑TV snack by the bed, and I have no regrets.
The Tampa Bay Mix with white cheddar and caramel, though? My daughter and I shared that one over a good K‑Drama. I tried to hide the rest for the next day, but my I kept sneaking handfuls, which tells you everything you need to know. These flavors are absolutely delicious.
I highly recommend both flavors to any popcorn lover. You will not be disappointed. Signature Popcorn is the perfect addition to family gatherings, book clubs, football parties, and movie nights. Teachers, imagine hosting a fun classroom party or using these as prizes for an AR contest. The kids would go bananas.
And if you own a business and want to surprise your team with something unique, Signature Popcorn makes an unforgettable gift. It’s different, thoughtful, and will definitely be the talk of the office.
