Photos Provided By: Tamarica Washington Me: Thank you so much for the opportunity to have you on my blog. Please tell us a little about yourself.   Tamarica: My name is Tamarica Washington, I’m 25 years old. I’m happily married to my husband Cle’Andre Washington. Together my husband and I have 3 kids and 1 baby boy on the way. I’ve been drawing since I was a little girl. Last year when the pandemic first started, I retired from being a hair braider after 6 years to pursue my art career. I’m a God fearing woman, God blessed me with my gifts so I use them to give him the glory.  Me: What was your inspiration in starting your sculptures?   Tamarica:  I was tired of doing the same thing. I wanted to do something different, something I haven’t done before to challenge myself. I’m so glad I did because I love sculpting so much. I still have a lot to learn but I’m enjoying the process       Me: What beautiful work. I see you do not just do sculptures but you also do painting.  Please tell my

Interview With Personal Trainer Elizabeth of Best Of Liz

Me:    Please share with my readers a little about yourself.   Elizabeth: Hi, My name is Elizabeth (but only my dad still calls me by my full name), but most people know me as Liz. I'm a level 3 qualified Personal Trainer and lover of movement in all forms. Our bodies are great tools, and I love exploring what my body can do.    Me: Tell me what inspired you to start your fitness training journey?   Elizabeth: I was super active from a very young age. As soon as I could walk, I was running, and I was really fast!!! Growing up, I used to race all the boys in my neighborhood and win, but my love of movement meant I didn't want to just run, but I wanted to jump, bound, throw, try and succeed in everything. So instead of competing in just one discipline, I trained as a Hephthalite in my teenage years. At 18, I gave it up to focus on my studies, and as I began working to support myself, I ended up tending bars in London's biggest nightclubs, to eventually managing them. The more

Praying For Answers for My Daughter

Hey,  my name is Shekita Barnes and my daughter's name is Kalaysia Barnes on November 24,2015, my daughter woke up limping, so I asked her why she was walking like that. She said she didn't know so later on that day she was crying, and my cousin and I asked her what she was crying for and again she said she didn't know. My cousin went to the store and got her and her twin brother Cordez some cupcakes, but she could not hold anything in her hands. My cousin suggested something happened to her in her sleep that night, so I took her to a hospital in Montgomery. The doctors ran tests on her and said she had a light stroke, so they sent her to Birmingham to a children’s hospital. They ran tests on her and came and told us that she could not talk but she could walk just a little. She was admitted to the hospital on December 8th. She went into a coma and the doctors had given up on her.    I left the hospital to go home and check on my other kids. She woke up on January 6,2016

Skin Color Doesn't Dictate Love

Written By: Felecia Causey Models:Casey, Tommy, Annelise, Aiyanna, and Alaina Rockwell    In a world where there should not be a boundary when it comes to love. Unfortunately in reality, we live in a place where people have a cap or visual of what and how a person should be or look like. There is also a “norm” of what a family should like.  What so many fail to do is mind the business that pays them. There are so many families that may look different, but their love for each other is as strong as any other family is. When you view from the innocent eyes of a child they don’t see color or see different, they are not aware that people despite their family, all they see in their sweet eyes, is unconditional love. There is no acceptance in their home and around most family members, or friends, but it is a factor in what love should look like in a cruel world where the color of your skin plays a factor in what love should look like. In such a time, where skin color is a very sensitive su
