Not Quite a Touchdown: My Unsatisfactory Visit to Touchdown Wing

So, my family and I checked out Touchdown Wings in Montgomery – you know, that new place in the old Gigi Cupcakes spot? It's super tiny, more like a mini sports bar than a family restaurant. We went right when they opened and still waited about 20-25 minutes, which was a little surprising. They seemed a bit overwhelmed, messing up a few orders.

I got the 10-piece mild lemon pepper wings combo with a Dr. Pepper…and that Dr. Pepper was AWFUL! Flat and tasted nothing like it should. The wings themselves were a mixed bag – juicy on the outside but kind of dry inside. They gave a TON of fries, which were…okay. Nothing special, but not terrible either.

My son had the chicken Philly cheesesteak with onions and peppers, and he really liked it! Lots of fries came with that too, but he barely touched them. My daughter had the four-piece chicken tender combo, and sadly, her Dr. Pepper was just as bad as mine. She said the tenders tasted like they were cooked in fishy oil and were a bit tough. Same greasy-but-okay fries for her plate, too. My husband got the BBQ wings, and his drink was fine, but he had the same dry-inside/wet-outside wing issue.

Honestly, the food wasn't amazing. I'd give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. The cashier was super sweet, though! The whole place felt like a pricier version of American Deli. I'm not sure I'd rush back, but if you're a Philly cheesesteak fan, it might be worth a try for you. Maybe you'll have better luck! Just wanted to share our honest experience. Hope you have a great meal.

Happy eating!
