I recently drove out to Cecil, Alabama to visit the new Tucker Pecan Company, and I was excited to finally check it out. It’s located right behind John Hall’s Restaurant, which I reviewed not long ago. My first impression of this charming little spot took me back to sitting outside with my parents on a warm summer evening, enjoying a cool breeze and good conversation.
When I walked inside, I was greeted by Ms. Lexi, whose warm welcome immediately stood out. I expected a large store, but instead found a cozy, inviting shop. One room held freezers and coolers stocked with pastas, dips, filets, pork chops, twice‑baked potatoes, and more. A second small room featured candles, beard balm, soaps, desserts, sauces, their pecan treats, and other specialty items.
I picked up a few things to try: dark chocolate covered pecans, the spicy White Trash dip, a creamy pecan praline, and their sausage cheese biscuits.
I started with the 8 oz dark chocolate pecans ($8.95). The pecans were fresh and had a great crunch. I accidentally grabbed dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate my personal preference, but they still didn’t go to waste in my house. The creamy praline ($3.25) was delicious. It wasn’t overly sweet, and the pecans tasted fresh.
The spicy White Trash dip ($6.95) seems to be one of their popular items, but it wasn’t for me. It had a strong ranch flavor and was very salty. I didn’t get much spice from it, and I’m a big spice lover. Paired with unsalted chips, it may be perfect for someone else’s taste.
The sausage cheese biscuits ($6.95) were my favorite. They reminded me of homemade biscuits with a flavorful twist. If you’re a mom like I was when my kids were in school, cooking breakfast almost every morning, these are perfect for those busy days. They’re so good that you can enjoy them with or without syrup. One tip: take them out of the oven a few minutes earlier than the directions suggest if you prefer a softer biscuit.
Customer service is something I value deeply, and Lexi’s friendliness made a lasting impression. Even if everything you try isn’t your favorite, a warm welcome can make you want to return and that’s exactly how I felt. The atmosphere and service were easily a 5 out of 5.
My total came to $27.34, and I can honestly say it was worth the experience. I’ll definitely be going back to try more of their items, and I highly recommend you stop by and check them out for yourself.
