Breastfeeding In Public

Many people are very offended at the sight of a mother breastfeeding her baby in public. The top reasons after reading and researching is people found it inappropriate and they felt seeing it would make them uncomfortable.

After many years on the controversy of breastfeeding in public, there are still many negative reactions.

It has become such a big deal that it has caused many women nursing their babies to be kicked out public places all over the world.  The many viral social media rants from moms of being mistreated, is a constant reminder of how many people and businesses don't agree on public breastfeeding.

Women must be brave to breastfeed her baby outside of her comfort zone. She can be self conscious, but take pride in choosing her baby's need before the negativity she will face on this nursing journey.
Many moms are not trying to make anyone feel uncomfortable but want to feed their baby in peace and be respected. Women choose not to use covers or blankets because most babies don't like it and sweat.

The ladies featured on this blog, shares their opinion on breastfeeding, and advice feeding their babies in public.

Jazz and her Daughter

We live in a world where the most unusual of things have become the norm and something as natural as feeding your baby and the bond that comes along with that time of feeding is shamed and it shouldn't be. Women should never have to be apologetic about nursing their baby. The baby has to eat and I for one will feed on demand and not be sorry if it makes anyone uncomfortable.

I haven't had any negative experiences breastfeeding in public, but I was reluctant to do it at first because I was afraid that someone would say something. I would have to work the courage up to do it and would nervously peek around to see if anyone was watching. My advice to new moms would be just to forget about everybody else around you and focus on your baby. You are doing something natural and beautiful, and it's not your problem if someone doesn't share this view. You're doing what is best for your baby, and that's all that matters.

After having three children that were formula fed, I decided to breastfeed my 4th baby.  Why did I not breastfeed the others?  Mostly, because of all of the negative comments associated with breastfeeding and especially breastfeeding in public.  My mother was not a supporter of breastfeeding.  She would always say, “you are not going anywhere with me popping your titty out.”  Well, with my now 4 month old, I decided to make the decision to breastfeed no matter what negative comments were said.  My mom started wanting to say something, but I stopped her and told her I was doing it for my baby and my mind was made up.  She has since adjusted and has not expressed any negative feelings and we have been out several times together when I had to feed the baby.  My words of encouragement for those who want to breastfeed in public are to be comfortable in what you do.  You are doing this for your baby and not anyone else, block out the negativity associated with breastfeeding and find ways to make it positive.

Breastfeeding is a beautiful thing. It's a natural way to bond with your child.  I recommend breastfeeding to any mother because it's healthy. It helps build the immune system. My son has been sick twice since he has been born. I have never had an issue with breastfeeding in public. If my son wants milk he pulls it out and drinks.

Featuring Interview with Cake Designer Nicole of OKC Cake Lady

Photos Provided By Nicole   Me: Hi Nicole! How did you start your passion for designing cakes and where are you located? Hi! I am located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma. I started working at a grocery store whenever I was 18 years old. I have always been a car Enthusiast and I had a mini truck that I was fixing up as a hobby. The grocery store manager asked if I wanted to work in the bakery to get more hours. Well, more hours equaled more money for my truck, and I kindly took them up on their offer. From there, I started in the bakery, and I absolutely loved it. I could not get enough of getting to create and putting smiles on customers faces. Me: What made you take a leap into starting your own business? I have always loved business. When I walk into other people's stores, I always look for ways to try to improve their store in my head. So, after working in the bakery for years I just knew that I could do this on my own and I would be a lot happier. I knew that being in my own environm

Featuring Tea Town in Montgomery, AL

Written By: Felecia Causey Tea Town is a family-owned restaurant located in Montgomery, AL.  It’s in a great location right off Vaughn Road, close to the AMC movie theater. The first thing that caught my attention was how clean it was.  I enjoyed how peaceful it seemed.  Oh, my goodness, my readers and followers know how important good customer service is to me.  The entire family that was there was so welcoming. I was impressed when they asked if I had any food allergies.  That was very courteous of them.    I wanted to get a little more background of this family.  Just by talking to Buu and Brandi I knew they were aiming to build relationships with their customers. Watching the interactions between them and each person that came through the door, told me that they would treat their customers like family.  It will definitely set them apart from many other restaurants in my book. Phat Trieu and Cam Thai came from Vietnam along with their kids.   They have been cooking for years and
