Commissioners Pit Stop has been making serious waves in Montgomery, so when I saw they were coming back to town, I figured it was a must-try. I’m not a fan of long lines, so I was excited to see they offered online ordering and delivery to your vehicle. Unfortunately, that turned out to be false—and just one of several letdowns during my visit.
I placed my order at 9:14 AM, hoping to be one of the first in line. But my receipt showed a timestamp of 11:15 AM, with a pickup time of 11:45. I had skipped breakfast to try a variety of items, and when I pulled into their location at Home Depot on the Blvd around 11:30, my heart sank—they weren’t even there yet. Just as the light changed, I saw their truck pulling in. At that point, they were already 15–20 minutes behind schedule, and the parking lot was filling up fast.
I waited patiently as the sun got hotter and the line grew longer. My receipt said I was order #2, but I watched customer after customer receive their food while I kept checking my phone. After 30 minutes, I considered asking for a refund. I made several trips back and forth to my car, growing more impatient. Although my food was supposed to be ready by 11:45, I didn’t actually receive it until 12:21. By then, my excitement had faded. Still, I had already paid nearly $40—including tax and a 2.5% travel gratuity fee—so I stuck it out.
Here’s what I ordered:
(2) BBQ Sandwiches – $10.95
(1) Regular Hamburger with toppings on the side – $6.95
(4) Chicken Tenders and (8) Wings with Fries – $15.95 Total: $38.16
Let’s start with the hamburger. Most places don’t season their burgers, but Commissioners Pit Stop did—and it was amazing. You could tell it was real beef, and I appreciated that they honored my request to keep the toppings on the side. That kept the bread from getting soggy and made it easy to reheat if needed. It was a good-sized burger and priced about the same as McDonald’s, but with way better quality.
The chicken tenders and wings plate with fries was a mixed bag. The tenders were dry, though I’ll give them credit for using real chicken. The fries weren’t crispy by the time I got to them, but they were still tasty. The wings weren’t bad, but they didn’t have much sauce, even though I requested extra.

Would I try this truck again? Probably not. I really enjoyed the burger and pulled pork sandwiches, and the woman at the register was super nice. But the long wait, the inaccurate pickup time, and the lack of car delivery (as advertised) were major disappointments. Many people have had great experiences with this truck, but mine didn’t match the hype.
That said, I wouldn’t tell anyone not to try them. The food is worth tasting—just make sure you have plenty of time and patience. I hope your experience is better than mine, and if you do stop by, let me know how it goes. You’ll need to follow their location updates on Facebook to catch them.
