Me: Can you tell us a little about yourself and what inspired you to write Pain Raised Me But Trauma Healed Me?
Michaelia: My name is Michaelia Nobles. I am an author, radio and podcast host, and a broadcast student. What inspired me to write this book was my life itself. I wanted to tell my story in hopes that it would inspire and help others.
Me: What was the emotional journey like while writing this book? Were there any moments that were especially difficult or healing?
Michaelia: The journey was very intense. There were chapters that required me to revisit painful moments and re-feel certain emotions. Some subjects reopened old wounds, but those very emotions also gave me strength and motivation to keep going. Writing this book was both challenging and healing.
Me: Your title is incredibly powerful. How did you come up with it, and what does it mean to you personally?
Michaelia: The title was given to me by God. I was sitting in a women’s group meeting when the Lord placed it on my heart an entire year before I became an author. To me, it means that pain itself can be a teacher. Pain shapes you from the inside out, sometimes in ways that hold you back. But when pain turns into trauma, it forces a choice: either you heal, or you remain stuck in a cycle. Ultimately, the message is that pain can raise you, but trauma pushes you to change.
Me: What message or impact do you hope readers take away from your story?
Michaelia: That their past does not define them. I want readers to use their pain and trauma not as limitations, but as tools to heal and to help others on their own journeys.
Me: You also host a podcast—how does it connect with the themes in your book? Do you explore similar topics or reach a different audience?
Michaelia: My podcast covers a variety of topics, and at times I dive into themes that align with my book. It also gives my audience a chance to know me more personally and connect with me beyond the pages.
Me: What has the response been like from readers and listeners so far? Any feedback that really stuck with you?
Michaelia: The response has been incredible. Many readers have shared how the book helped them grow and heal, and that feedback means the most to me. Knowing my words are making a difference is the greatest reward.
Me: How do you balance vulnerability and strength when sharing personal experiences in your work?
Michaelia: By prioritizing my mental health and making sure I take care of myself first.
Me: What advice would you give to someone who’s going through a healing journey of their own?
Michaelia: Stay true to yourself and keep moving forward, no matter what. Healing isn’t easy, but every step matters.
Me: Are there any upcoming projects—books, podcast episodes, events—that you’re excited about and want to share with us?
Michaelia: Yes, I’m working on a few projects right now, and there are some exciting changes on the way. I’m looking forward to sharing them soon.
Me: Where can readers find your book and follow your work online?
