Review: Ingram's Farmers Market and Garden – Millbrook, AL

I had the opportunity to visit Ingram's Farmers Market and Garden in Millbrook on a beautiful day, and the ride there was just as enjoyable. I came across their page on social media and saw they were offering a pulled pork sandwich for lunch, which immediately caught my attention.

When I arrived, the place wasn’t crowded. The staff spoke when I walked in—not rude, but not overly welcoming either. The cashier, however, was very helpful when I asked for suggestions. I ended up spending $28.33 on my order.

Let’s start with the main reason I went—the pulled pork sandwich with chips and a drink (tea or lemonade). The bread was fresh, but unfortunately, the meat was extremely dry and lacked seasoning. Even with my favorite topping, coleslaw, it couldn’t save the flavor. Honestly, it tasted like it might’ve been left over from the day before. I was highly disappointed. On the bright side, my dog was thrilled to get the rest—so at least someone enjoyed it!

Next, I tried the cornbread dressing. It wasn’t to my liking—it didn’t compare to the versions made by my mom, my mother-in-law, or myself. It lacked meat and flavor. Maybe a little cranberry sauce could’ve helped, but maybe not.

The kids’ meal included ribs, mac and cheese, and a slice of white bread. The ribs had a decent amount of meat and weren’t fatty. They were seasoned well, and I could really taste the smoky flavor, which added a nice depth. They didn’t even need BBQ sauce. The mac and cheese were cheesy, moist, and flavorful—not dry at all. The white bread was soft and fresh.

The banana pudding was a highlight. It tasted homemade and fresh—I’d definitely buy it again.

As for drinks, the lemonade was excellent. I’d buy it by the gallon. The tea was okay, but I’m not much of a tea drinker.

Beyond the food, Ingram’s also sells fresh flowers, vegetables, and fruits. They have a selection of vintage items and home goods for sale as well. Some of the prices were a little on the high side, but I enjoyed browsing—especially the kids’ items, which were charming and fun to look through.

Overall, while some items missed the mark, others were solid. For the price, the portions were fair compared to other places I’ve tried. I appreciate the effort, but I hope they improve consistency—especially with the main dishes.
