I finally had the opportunity to catch up with Fountain City Food and Catering Food Truck at Baptist East in Montgomery, AL. When I walked up, there was no line, which was perfect because I had already checked out their menu online and knew exactly what I wanted.
I’d heard someone mention that their burgers were great, so I went with the Smatty Melt, which comes with fries for $14. I also wanted to try their buffalo chicken fries, but I didn’t want a huge $15 serving, so I ordered premium fries for $8 basically the toppings added to a regular side of fries.
I also wanted to try their fried Oreos, but they weren’t available that day. I’m not going to lie, I was a little bummed because I had my mind set on them.
The customer service, however, made up for it. The lady taking orders was patient and friendly, and everything is cooked to order. My wait time was about 11 minutes, which is great in my book.
Now, let’s get into the food. The burger was the star of the show. The Smatty Melt is easily in my top 10 burgers I’ve ever had. The meat was seasoned well, juicy, and full of flavor. I would absolutely recommend it.
As for the fries my readers know how serious I am about fries. I love them crispy, hot, and seasoned. Some of mine were a little undercooked, and I wish there had been more cheese, buffalo sauce, and ranch. They weren’t bad at all (I ate every bit of them), but I definitely wanted more fries. For the price, I expected more.
Overall, for $22, I would have liked to see a bit more on the plate. Drinks do not come with the meal, but they are available for purchase, so keep that in mind when ordering. Still, the burger alone was a solid 9/10, and I’d go back just for that.
If you get a chance to try them, especially their burgers, let me know about your experience. I always enjoy hearing what you all think.
