I didn’t get a chance to take this year’s school photo of them both in front of the door. Everyone now thinks it’s lame, and with them on different schedules, it just didn’t happen today. However, they know I’ll still be getting my photo for my scrapbook.
Even though they left at different times, it didn’t stop me from putting blessing oil on them and praying over both of them as they walked out the door. Moms, whether your kids are in elementary school, middle school, high school, or college, always pray over your children and their school. I believe this wholeheartedly. I hope you’ll pray over your kids too, whether you use my prayer or your own.
My Prayer
I pray that both of my kids, Lord, be blessed with Your knowledge, understanding, and wisdom in every choice they make. I pray that You direct their steps and let them always walk in integrity and put You first. May this school year be filled with joy, growth, and Your presence. (Proverbs 10:9) (Psalm 121:8)
I pray You protect them and surround them with Your angels. I pray no challenge will be too tough for them. Lord, please protect their minds, guard their hearts, and bless them with peace. (Philippians 4:6–7)
As a mom, I know I can’t be there to protect them at all times, but I have given them to You, because who can protect them better than You? (Isaiah 54:17)
I pray You surround them with people who have good intentions and that every teacher or professor is kind. Surround them, Jesus, with kind people. Fill them with Your wisdom and discernment. I pray they never come across anyone who tries to drain them or detour them from You, Lord. Give them such discernment that they recognize bad intentions before they get emotionally attached. Let them see through charms and empty promises. Please give them the helmet of salvation to protect their minds from anything competing for their attention. (Daniel 1:20) Connect them with the right people and remove anyone who means them no good. (Psalm 13:20) I pray they bring others to Your kingdom and always run back into Your arms.
I pray that no matter what they try to accomplish, they find Your favor. Lord, protect them from bullying, comparison, anxiety, temptation, or anything that is not of You. Please make them strong in character, gentle in spirit, and bold in faith. When life feels heavy, remind them they are not alone, You, are with them. Jesus, give them clarity when making decisions and keep them healthy spiritually, mentally, and physically.
Lord, give them confidence and courage despite what they face, and help them always do the right thing and put You first. If they ever walk outside of Your will, make them uneasy so they quickly change their ways and actions. I thank You, God, for always having them in the right place at the right time, and never in the wrong place at the wrong time. I cancel the plot and plan of the enemy right now.
Jesus, thank You for entrusting me to be their mama and for always giving me the right words and prayers when they need them.
Amen. Felecia
