I was looking for something different than a burger, so I came across a restaurant off Perry Hill Road called The Seafood Bistro. I got their Shrimp Po'boy with okra ($13.99), medium buffalo wings with fries ($11.99), a cup of Cajun‑ish Chicken and Conecuh sausage gumbo ($6.99), and a cup of Paul’s Cajun‑ish Seafood gumbo ($6.99). My total came out to a booming $45.28, which included $4.00 tax and a $1.32 credit card surcharge.
The décor inside was very interesting. They were just opening, so there was no line. It took about 15–25 minutes for the food, but everything was freshly cooked, so I didn’t mind waiting. There was no crowd, it was cool inside, and it smelled really clean.
Starting with the Shrimp Po’boy and okra, I was impressed with how many shrimp they put on the sandwich. The bread wasn’t soft, but it wasn’t too hard either. I did pull the leafy part off the sandwich. The shrimp were cooked and battered amazingly, but they could’ve used a little more seasoning. The okra was hot, fresh, and crispy, but unfortunately had no seasoning. They were still good, though, I added ketchup and enjoyed those crispy little bites. I’m not sure what the sauce was, but the flavor wasn’t overpowering. It had a sweet taste. I didn’t hate it, but I could’ve gone without it. I would definitely order this plate again, just without the sauce and lettuce on the sandwich.

The wings and fries plate was a little disappointing. I ordered buffalo lemon pepper, but I didn’t get those flavors. The wings were a great size, but I was expecting more of a party‑wing style. If I had known, I honestly wouldn’t have ordered them. They were fried crispy, but not sauced evenly, and there was no seasoning. The fries were hot but not crispy and also had no seasoning. I wouldn’t purchase this plate again.

The seafood gumbo had a gritty texture, and the rice seemed a little underdone. It wasn’t horrible, but I didn’t get much “seafood.” It had a little spice, but unfortunately, I wouldn’t buy this again.
The chicken and sausage gumbo was so good. Even though the meat didn’t seem like chicken and there weren’t many sausages, the flavor was great. I would buy this again.
The person who took my order was very nice, the place was clean, and the food wasn’t horrible, it had both good and bad moments. I do believe if you’re a seafood lover, you should give them a try. I give it 3.9/5 stars.
