I Didn't Want to Live Like That Anymore

All my life I have struggled with being chubby. I never really thought of it as an issue until I would get picked on for being big. When I graduated High School I got a gym membership and tried to lose weight on my own, however I didn’t know what I was doing or how to eat. One day I went to the doctor and he told me for my height I was obese weighing in at 210 pounds and only 5’1.  When I went home I took my shirt off and took a picture of myself from all three angles front, back, and side. I didn’t want to live my life like that anymore.  In 2012, I began my journey to losing weight.

I have had plenty of help along the way from boot camps, personal trainers,  friends, and family giving words of encouragement. I will not say this journey was easy at all, but what I will say is if you are dedicated and stick to what you want anything is possible. I am proud to say that I am now down 55 pounds and still pushing toward a healthier me.  People tell me all the time how much I motivate them, but little do they know they motivate me to continue to keep pushing forward. I always say if I can just inspire one person a day my mission is complete!

The advice that I would give to other women is to never EVER GIVE UP, we often find ourselves getting depressed because we don't see the weight come off as quick as we would like it to . Reality is that we didn't gain that weight over night so it will take time and hard work to see results. I always say pictures are everything !! You might not see the number on a scale move much however taking pictures and comparing them will help you get more of a visual of your results .

Losing weight to me meant a better and healthier lifestyle . At first I was doing it, because I was so tired of trying on clothes and not liking what I saw. I was determined to make a change . This has been the best decision of my life!! To know that I inspire so many people without even trying means everything to me. I feel better, look better, and wake up everyday knowing that I am in good health. If you're reading this story I just want you to know that starting is the easy part sticking with it is where dedication come in, but with the end results you will be glad you did. Always remember why you started when you feel like giving up ! You got this!

  1. AMAZING!!!!! Yes you do inspire others, especially me! Although I have not had an issue with weight all my life, over the past year I have gained 40 pounds and it is life-shocking the difference I feel being heavier and less able to do the things I need and want to do. You inspire me to get up and workout when I want to just sit and do nothing, when I feel like giving up, you push me to finish, when I am struggling with an exercise or food you remind me I have a goal I want to reach and to keep pushing. Your smiling face and silly giggle give me life when I feel I have no life left in me. I am soon going to be back to the place I use to be and we will workout together again and do a repeat of our partner workout we did over a year ago. Keep doing what you are doing. You have accomplished so much and I know that you will be successful in your overall goal. Keep doing what you are doing for yourself and you will automatically touch so many lives. You are truly a gift from God to those who meet you. I love you and THANK YOU for showing me the way to NEVER GIVING UP!!
